Waymaker Essentials started with a prayer.

In early 2025, I was preparing for a mission trip to Barcelona, Spain, asking the Lord to provide a way for me to go. I remember praying simple prayers: “Lord, if this is where You want me, You will make a way.”

During that season, God gently placed an idea on my heart - to share the tallow balm and lip balm I had been making for my family. It felt small and ordinary, and I had no idea what He would do with it. But with the encouragement of my husband, I took a step of faith and began making small batches to share.

I thought I was simply raising funds for one mission trip.

God was starting something much bigger.

What began in our kitchen as a small act of obedience became Waymaker Essentials - a business built on faith and sustained by God’s provision. The name Waymaker is a reminder of how this journey began and of the God we serve - the One who faithfully makes a way when we trust Him.

But the story didn’t originally begin in the kitchen.

As a nurse with nearly a decade of experience, I’ve seen firsthand how deeply people struggle with their health. Becoming a mom only deepened that awareness and stirred a desire to live more intentionally - to be good stewards of the bodies God has given us and the home He has entrusted to us.

Several years ago, my husband and I began making small changes: reading ingredient labels more carefully, simplifying what we used in our home, and choosing products we felt confident using on ourselves and our children. We weren’t chasing perfection - just faithfulness and a desire to honor God in our everyday decisions.

That journey led me to tallow.

After trying product after product labeled “natural” but filled with unfamiliar ingredients, I began searching for something simpler. Tallow stood out in a surprising way - rich in nutrients and uniquely compatible with our skin. It felt like a return to something honest and time-tested, and a reflection of the wisdom in God’s design.

Today, Waymaker Essentials exists for more than natural skincare. From the beginning, this business has belonged to the Lord - and as it has grown, so has the calling behind it.

Our heart is to glorify God and to take part in sharing the Gospel. That is why we commit to giving 10% of every purchase to missions and gospel-centered ministries, helping support the work of sharing the message of Jesus Christ so that all may hear.

When you purchase from Waymaker Essentials, you’re doing more than supporting a small business - you’re partnering in the work God is doing beyond what we can see. This mission didn’t end with one trip. It continues with every order placed and every product made.

Each product is made with intention and gratitude for what God has done. My prayer is that Waymaker Essentials will always be more than skincare - that it would be a testimony to God’s faithfulness and a small part of His greater story.

Because this business began with Him, and it exists for Him.
